OGDC Hosts Risk Management Training for GIKI Students at OGTI

ISLAMABAD — Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC) organized a specialized training session on “Risk Management and Hazard Identification” for 18 graduate students from the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI) at the Oil & Gas Training Institute (OGTI) in Islamabad.

Facilitated by corporate risk expert Kamran Siddique, the workshop delivered practical, industry-focused insights into core safety protocols, including hazard identification, risk assessment methodologies, control measures, and proactive risk management framework deployment.

Key Focus Areas of the Workshop

  • Hazard Identification & Assessment: Teaching techniques to recognize potential operational, environmental, and physical hazards prior to field execution.
  • Corporate Risk Controls: Implementing hierarchical risk controls and mitigation strategies aligned with international energy sector standards.
  • Proactive Safety Culture: Shifting from reactive incident response to continuous monitoring, reporting, and hazard prevention.
  • Academia-Industry Synergy: Equipping engineering graduates with real-world corporate perspectives to build safe, resilient, and compliant professionals ready for high-stakes industrial environments.
