Pakistan on the World Stage: Sialkot-Made ‘TRIONDA’ World Cup Match Ball Showcased at United Nations

UNITED NATIONS, NEW YORK — Pakistan’s legacy of fueling global football took center stage at the United Nations headquarters during a high-level event co-organized by the UN Youth Office and FIFA.

Titled “One World, One Game, One Goal: Football as a Catalyst for Youth Mental Health and Well-Being,” the ceremony highlighted the intersection of sports, global unity, and mental health. Representing the country, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, proudly presented “TRIONDA”—the official Adidas match ball for the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2026.

The high-performance ball is proudly manufactured in Sialkot, Pakistan, a city world-renowned for producing nearly 70% of the globe’s premium soccer balls.

A Symbol of Unity and Craftsmanship

The name TRIONDA blends the word “Tri” (honoring the three tournament host nations: the United States, Canada, and Mexico) and “Onda” (the Spanish word for wave, inspired by the iconic la ola stadium wave design).

Addressing the delegates and sports officials at the UN, Rana Mashhood highlighted that the football represents far more than just top-tier sports engineering:

“Created by Pakistani hands, it represents craftsmanship, possibility, and the power of sport to bring people together across borders and cultures.”

Sports as a Tool for Youth Well-Being

The panel discussion focused on utilizing global sports like football to promote mental health and resilience among young populations worldwide. Pakistani officials noted that involving youth in sports programs helps foster community, reduce stress, and build critical social connections.

By having its premium manufacturing industry directly tied to football’s ultimate global event, Pakistan continues to reinforce its reputation as an indispensable partner to the international sports community while advocating for the empowerment of the next generation.
