ISLAMABAD — Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Prof. Ahsan Iqbal, has paid rich tribute to the people of Jammu and Kashmir for their steadfast resolve, courage, and sacrifices on the occasion of Youm-e-Ilhaq-e-Kashmir (Kashmir Accession Day).

In a formal statement, the minister reaffirmed that the Kashmiri people have pursued their internationally recognized right to self-determination for over seven decades despite facing severe hardships and oppression.

• Unwavering Support: Minister Ahsan Iqbal emphasized that Pakistan remains firm in offering moral, diplomatic, and political support to the Kashmiri struggle in line with the relevant United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions.
• Regional Peace & Justice: He noted that sustainable peace in South Asia is directly dependent on fulfilling the legitimate aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
• National Solidarity: Reaffirming Pakistan’s solidarity, he declared, “The people of Kashmir are not alone. Pakistan stands with them; today, tomorrow and until justice prevails.”
