ISLAMABAD — Pakistan has recorded a major breakthrough on the global digital stage, jumping 27 places in the International Telecommunication Union’s (ITU) ICT Development Index (IDI) for 2026.

According to the newly released global report, Pakistan’s IDI score surged from 56.4 in 2025 to 67.7 in 2026. This represents an impressive 20% relative improvement, underscoring the rapid expansion of the country’s telecom infrastructure, internet affordability, and digital readiness
