LAHORE — A high-level delegation from the Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJ&K) Planning and Development Department (P&DD) visited the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) headquarters to study the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) interventions successfully deployed across Punjab and beyond.
The visiting delegation was led by the Director of AJ&K Land Use P&DD, accompanied by key members of their technical team, aiming to explore avenues for digital transformation and technological adaptation.
Briefing on Digital Transformation and Advanced AI
PITB Assistant Director General (ADG) Zulfiqar Ali Shaheen, alongside his team, welcomed the delegation and provided a comprehensive briefing on Punjab’s key initiatives in e-Governance, digital transformation, and specialized IT solutions.
The delegation was specifically briefed on cutting-edge systems and emerging technologies, including:
- Legal and Justice Systems: Detailed walkthroughs of the PITB-executed Criminal Justice System and the innovative, AI-based Litigation Management System.
- Modern Training Frameworks: Insights into advanced technical training systems designed to capacity-build public sector human resources.
- Next-Generation Tech: Deep dives into the deployment of Generative AI, Data Engineering, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
- Geospatial AI: Practical applications regarding the utilization of Artificial Intelligence technologies in geospatial data development and spatial analysis.
Strengthening Inter-Provincial Collaboration
The visit concluded with a commitment to mutual cooperation in tech-driven governance. On behalf of PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf, ADG Zulfiqar Ali Shaheen presented a commemorative souvenir to the visiting AJ&K officials.
The session was also attended by PITB Deputy Director Admin Liaquat Ali Khattak, Joint Directors Adeel Shahzad and Ammar Ahmed, as well as senior representatives from PITB’s Software Engineering wing.
