ISLAMABAD — Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP), Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, has officially nominated Ms. Uzma Yaqoob as the Focal Person to the Chairman for Promoting Gender Inclusion and Women Empowerment Linkages.
According to an official notification, the appointment has been made on an honorary basis to further strengthen the government’s commitment to gender equity.
Advancing Gender-Responsive Initiatives
In her new role, Ms. Yaqoob will be responsible for driving strategic advancements to uplift women through national youth platforms. Her primary responsibilities will include:
- Strategic Coordination: Facilitating streamlined communication and collaboration across various government departments and stakeholders.
- Building Partnerships: Developing robust linkages with national and international organizations to support women-centric initiatives.
- Policy Support: Assisting in the formulation and implementation of gender-responsive programs within the PMYP framework.
The appointment aims to significantly enhance women’s participation, active inclusion, and overall empowerment across all current and future PMYP interventions, ensuring equal opportunities for young women across Pakistan.
