SDPI to Host Virtual Dialogue on Establishing Pakistan’s Just Energy Transition Country Platform

ISLAMABAD — The Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) is set to convene a virtual consultative discussion on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, focused on laying the institutional, governance, and justice foundations for a credible “Country Platform” to guide Pakistan’s clean energy transition.

The high-level session, titled “Building the Foundations of a Country Platform for a Just Energy Transition in Pakistan,” brings together key climate strategists, researchers, financial institutions, and international policy organizations.

Key Discussion Themes

  • Aligning National Priorities: Examining how a dedicated Country Platform can bridge national climate targets with international financial institutions, private investors, and global development partners.
  • Policy Coherence & Investment Readiness: Strengthening institutional governance to make clean energy projects more attractive to international sustainable finance mechanisms.
  • Equitable Transition: Ensuring that the shift toward renewable energy is inclusive, protecting vulnerable communities while advancing Pakistan’s climate commitments.
