SDPI to Host Panel on Gender-Responsive Budgeting to Drive Inclusive Development in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD — The Gender Working Group (GWG) at the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) has announced a targeted discussion session titled “Gender Responsive Budgeting (GRB) in Pakistan: Strengthening Public Finance for Inclusive Development.”

The session aims to evaluate Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to integrate gender equity into its national financial planning and public financial management systems.

Core Focus Areas

The panel will examine how national fiscal policy and public finance tools can be effectively leveraged to reduce gender disparities and promote social inclusion across key sectors.

Key Session Objectives:

  • Federal Budget Allocations: Analyzing recent federal budget trends through a gender lens to measure impact and resource distribution.
  • Institutional Frameworks: Assessing current policy structures and identifying governance gaps within public financial management.
  • Opportunities for Reform: Exploring actionable strategies to embed gender mainstreaming into long-term national development budgets.
