PMYP Chairman Rana Mashhood Reviews Operational Strategy for Nationwide Chromebook Distribution

ISLAMABAD — Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP), Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, chaired a high-level operational meeting to finalize the execution roadmap for the national Chromebook project.

The strategy session focused heavily on step-by-step operational planning, cross-departmental coordination, and establishing transparent, efficient timelines for the rollout of the digital education initiative.

Driving Digital Equity and Phased Execution

The meeting focused on laying down concrete administrative frameworks to support the distribution of the devices across Pakistan. Key highlights from the operational briefing included:

  • Comprehensive Phased Rollout: To maintain strict transparency and proper asset tracking, the project activities will be executed in carefully monitored phases.
  • Targeted Regional Inclusion: The administrative plan explicitly guarantees the balanced inclusion of students from all provinces, including underserved rural zones, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), aiming to systematically bridge the urban-rural digital divide.
  • Institutional Alignment: The Chairman emphasized robust coordination between the PMYP, regional educational boards, and technical partners to establish standardized eligibility frameworks and ensure the devices seamlessly integrate into school, college, and university ecosystems.

The session concluded with the establishment of a centralized monitoring and evaluation mechanism designed to track the project’s progress, assess its academic impact, and ensure total accountability at every stage of the distribution pipeline.
