PM’s Youth Programme Chiefs Meet to Boost Pakistan’s Tourism and Hospitality Sector

ISLAMABAD — In a strategic move to revitalize the country’s tourism landscape, the Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP), Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, held a high-level meeting with Muhammad Rauf Raja, the newly appointed Focal Person for Tourism and Hospitality.

The meeting focused on designing robust initiatives to promote Pakistan’s diverse tourism potential and creating sustainable career pathways for the youth within the hospitality sector.

Key Highlights of the Meeting:

  • Empowering Youth through Tourism: The leaders discussed integrating youth development with the hospitality sector, aiming to create thousands of modern job opportunities, internships, and skill-development programs for young professionals.
  • Promoting Domestic and International Tourism: Strategies were reviewed to showcase Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage, scenic landscapes, and adventure tourism to both local and global audiences.
  • Infrastructure & Training: Discussions emphasized upgrading training standards in the hospitality sector to match international benchmarks, ensuring that Pakistani youth are equipped to handle modern tourism demands.

Driving Economic Growth

During the session, Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan formally presented the official notification to Muhammad Rauf Raja, solidifying his role as the focal person to spearhead these upcoming initiatives.

“Pakistan’s youth possess immense potential, and by aligning their skills with the rapidly growing tourism and hospitality industry, we can drive both economic growth and cultural exchange,” officials noted during the briefing.

This collaboration marks a significant step forward under the PM’s Youth Programme to leverage the country’s natural and cultural wealth while building a stronger, youth-led economy.
