ATTOCK: As part of its robust Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, the Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has inaugurated four key community welfare projects in Tehsil Jand, District Attock. The newly launched initiatives underscore OGDCL’s strategic commitment to improving local healthcare, education, infrastructure, and access to clean drinking water in its operational fields.
The projects were officially inaugurated by the local Member of the National Assembly (MNA) in a ceremony attended by OGDCL officials, regional administration, and local community leaders.
Key Community Welfare Projects Inaugurated
The newly launched development initiatives address critical grassroots requirements in Tehsil Jand:
1. Healthcare Upgrade at THQ Hospital, Jand
To improve local access to specialized medical treatments, OGDCL has provided two modern Dialysis Machines and an Ultrasound Machine to the Tehsil Headquarter (THQ) Hospital in Jand. The addition of this equipment will provide immediate, life-saving healthcare relief to patients requiring regular renal care and diagnostic imaging, saving them from costly journeys to larger cities.
2. Infrastructure Development at Dhoke Loharan
A newly constructed 2-kilometer road was inaugurated at Dhoke Loharan, Jand. This road is set to significantly improve rural connectivity, giving local residents smoother, safer commutes and boosting economic activity by linking farmers and small businesses directly to local markets.
3. Enhancing Educational Facilities
Recognizing the vital role of female education, OGDCL has constructed a dedicated academic and lavatory block at the Government Girls School in Jand, Attock. The expansion aims to create a more comfortable, hygienic, and conducive learning environment, helping to increase female student retention and enrollment rates.
4. Clean Drinking Water Access via RO Plants
To combat waterborne diseases and ensure safe drinking water, two Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water Filtration Plants were installed and made operational at Mohalla Hussainabad and Langar in Jand. The high-capacity plants will supply clean, safe, and filtered drinking water daily to hundreds of local families.
Sustaining Community Development
Speaking at the inauguration, the MNA highly praised OGDCL’s proactive CSR program, highlighting that the company continues to play an indispensable role in transforming the socio-economic landscape of the region.
An OGDCL representative reaffirmed that the company considers the local populations near its oil and gas fields as key partners in development, promising to continue prioritizing high-impact health, education, and municipal projects to uplift communities.
