ISLAMABAD — The National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) and Tang Chinese Education have resolved to scale up bilateral institutional partnerships, modernizing vocational learning and technical skills development frameworks for Pakistani youth.
The agreement followed a high-level review session chaired by the newly appointed Chairman of NAVTTC, Engineer Qamar ul Islam Raja. The consultative meeting included Mr. Song Jianying, Chief Executive Officer of Tang Chinese Education, and Mr. Rayed Khan, Country Director of Operations.
Accelerating the China-Pakistan TVET Initiative
The session focused on expanding existing educational frameworks and auditing operational timelines for current joint projects, particularly under the umbrella of the China-Pakistan TVET-Industry Center of Excellence (CPTICE). Key strategic focus areas included:
- Expanding Institutional Synergy: Both sides systematically reviewed ongoing vocational projects, including the integration of specialized “Matric Tech” and “Inter Tech” courses backed by advanced laboratory infrastructure.
- Aligning Skills with CPEC Phase II: The discussions emphasized deploying demand-driven curriculum tracks—spanning artificial intelligence, smart manufacturing, and modern information technology—to prepare a skilled local workforce tailored for industrial advancement.
- Strategic Dual-Certification Programs: The meeting explored ways to streamline mutual cross-border certifications, ensuring that technical credentials obtained by Pakistani trainees meet strict global and Chinese industrial employment eligibility parameters.
Chairman Engr. Qamar ul Islam Raja reaffirmed NAVTTC’s administrative readiness to provide the policy discipline needed to execute these programs effectively. Reaffirming their mutual commitment, both delegations stated that optimizing these technology-driven educational frameworks remains central to translating the bilateral Pak-China friendship into concrete socio-economic development.
