ISLAMABAD — Reaffirming the government’s commitment to transforming Pakistan into a competitive, knowledge-driven economy, Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Prof. Ahsan Iqbal Chaudhary, held an interactive session with scholars of the Pakistan Education Endowment Fund (PEEF) currently studying at top-tier international universities.

During the engagement, the Minister emphasized that human capital development is the core pillar of Pakistan’s national development strategy. He noted that in the modern global landscape, the nations leading the global knowledge economy are precisely those that invest heavily and consistently in education, innovation, and specialized skills.

Drawing from his personal journey—having studied at the prestigious Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania on a scholarship before entering public service—Prof. Ahsan Iqbal shared how his own experiences directly inspired the vision behind the National Endowment Fund, which has evolved into PEEF.

The initiative was established to bridge the opportunity gap, ensuring that exceptionally talented Pakistani students can access world-class higher education, regardless of their financial backgrounds.

“There is no dream you cannot realize in this country through hard work, determination, and perseverance,” the Minister told the scholars, urging them to pursue their academic goals with resilience, high purpose, and a deep sense of national responsibility.
