ISLAMABAD — The United States government, through the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP), has officially awarded prestigious Fulbright scholarships to 85 Pakistani students and researchers to pursue graduate studies at top universities across the United States.
The diverse cohort features scholars from all provinces of Pakistan pursuing advanced degrees in strategic fields, including artificial intelligence, engineering, business, finance, public policy, and the social sciences.
Cohort Breakdown
- 71 Master’s Scholars: Pursuing post-graduate degrees across key development and technological sectors.
- 14 Ph.D. Scholars: Conducting advanced doctoral research at leading American institutions.
- 6 FLTA Fellows: Selected under the Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) Program to undertake professional educational exchanges in the U.S.
Strengthening Educational Bilateral Ties
Jointly funded by the governments of Pakistan and the United States, the Fulbright Program serves as the U.S. government’s flagship international academic exchange initiative.
To prepare the outgoing scholars, USEFP hosted a two-day pre-departure orientation in Islamabad focusing on academic preparation, cultural adaptation, and networking.
Addressing the scholars, U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Andy Halus emphasized that Pakistan hosts one of the largest Fulbright programs globally, highlighting that educational exchanges remain a cornerstone of diplomacy and mutual development. The program fully covers tuition, airfare, living stipends, and health insurance, equipping alumni to return to Pakistan and contribute directly to the nation’s socioeconomic growth.
