SDPI Announces Specialized Capacity-Building Trainings on LEAP Emissions Modelling and Climate Finance

ISLAMABAD — The Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) has officially announced the launch of two comprehensive six-week specialized training programmes designed to boost technical expertise in climate policy and green economies.

The upcoming sessions focus heavily on the Low Emissions Analysis Platform (LEAP) – Cohort III, alongside a dedicated track for Climate Finance and Carbon Markets. Both initiatives aim to equip professionals, researchers, and policymakers with the practical toolsets required to navigate and support Pakistan’s transition toward a low-carbon, climate-resilient future.

Comprehensive Technical Tracks

The capacity-building modules are structured to address critical knowledge gaps in sustainable infrastructure:

  • LEAP Platform Training (Cohort III): Focuses on hands-on energy planning and advanced emissions modelling to help data analysts forecast environmental impacts.
  • Climate Finance & Carbon Markets: Delvers into carbon pricing mechanisms, international carbon market frameworks, and emerging green financing opportunities.

Training Schedule & Details

To accommodate a wide range of participants, SDPI is hosting these sessions in a flexible hybrid format, allowing for both in-person attendance and virtual participation via Zoom.

  • Training on LEAP (Cohort III)
    • Start Date: July 17, 2026
